Hi Kev Some of the group said to give you a shout as you are also one of the crazy Canuk. Where are you from in Canada? What going on in the soul World were you are? Not much in Kelowna Sorry to say. I found a site on line to get my hands on some vinyl and I lesson to a lot of internet radio. I have a friend in Vancouver who plays in a Northern band they play covers of old northern tracks but thats about it. If I get my pass port I may go down to Seattle in November. They have an All-Nighter there. I have never been to an All-Nighter so it could be cool. The only thing like that I have made it to was a Scooter Rally in Calgary I also djed the first Scooter Rally in Kelowna but I was Mixing Cds. It's a start. I was Born in Scotland. My friend and I got into Northern Soul from older Brothers, Fozz my mate has a box of 45 that belonged to his Brother's Best friend. Bad marage. That was when I was about 12 I have loved it ever since. I'm 42 now Well got to go. All The Best

Well have just spent a couple of hours, did I say spent...just wasted a couple of hours watching the Brit Awards...what a load of crap.

Sharon Osbourne up and down like queen muck, swearing and cursing like its going out of fashion, prancing up and down the stage like a bleeding lunatic, Groggy Osbourne by her side along with the spooky daughter, only Jack looked and behaved normal.

Amy Winehouse, first time I have seen her perform, perform? First time I have ever seen her stumbling around the stage, or is this just the way she moves to her music, could not tell a word she was saying, she looked high as a kite, what are these people thinking, this is not music...thank goodness for NS!

Just thought I'd pop in and apologise for my absence on the forum over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, our move to Spain has left us with no furniture, records or other stuff as it's now sat in a warehouse in Valencia. (At least it's not still 'bobbin' in the oggin') I've also had to build a stone retaining wall to stop our house from sliding off the mountain so my hands have been pretty full since we landed. Bev is now fed up of the blow up bed she's been sleeping on and the plastic patio chair she's had to sit on for the past month and hopefully the tossers in Miami will get their finger out and move our consignment to the house shortly. Glad I'm not in Florida or I would have reverted to type by now and paid them a 'friendly visit'.

So...enough of my griping. Jason and I are beavering away on the magazine stuff still and it's looking great for a Prestatyn Issue. Lots of stuff in the pipeline. I'll be more active and get stuff up on the forum/site once I get a bed and my 45s safely stacked in their new home.

Hitsville 2008 - I'm onto it. Watch this space.

Just had the sat line installed and am now back online in the new gaff in Spain. So....Happy New Year to all. Once our furniture (and records!) arrive in a couple of weeks normal Hitsville service will be resumed hopefully. Hope everyone has a great New Years Eve. We will........ we've now got electricity! Yeeehaaaaw!! Life is good.

Looking forward to seeing a few faces over here when we get settled. Start looking for flights folks.... the bar's about to open and the jukebox light if flickering into life.

"Some of you may have read the events thread relating to Russ & Jenny Vickers homecoming bash and the fact that Russ was ill in bed for two days with a stomach complaint immediately after arriving back at our shores - and me calling him a wimp!!!!!

Just had a call from Jenny to say that after day 3 of his pain they called the doctors in and discovered that he had appendicitis and it had burst!!!!!! He was admitted, to Queen Alexandra's in Portsmouth and operated on and has only just been released from Intensive care today. It was very serious and touch and go at times by Jenny's accounts.

Comes as a bit of a shock I'm sure you'll all agree and at a time when Jenny and little Zak needed him most - needless to say Jenny's been rushed off her feet and left to carry out all the settling in for them"

I have been in the US for 20 years and according to some have lost my North West, Warrington accent and to others I sound South African or Australian!!!, and in the UK I am a "bloody Yank".

I have been on the road with work this past week and have had the oppurtunity to get my morning coffee at Starbucks.

I place my order (Venti White Chocolate Mocha, Triple Expresso, Low Fat, No Whip{sounds a little metrosexual, tastes brilliant}) and then they ask me my name. "Mark" I say with a slight grin on my face in anticipation of what will be written on the cup, as they do at Starbucks.

On Tuesday I was Bob

On Wednesday I was Moe

and today I was Malk (thats because I spelt my name for the girl after I saw her puzzled expression)

Does this only happen to me or do other British transplants have the same issues.

I swear it only happens when I say "Mark"
