Just got back into Orlando. Will have a full report.

Al Williams, Eddie Parker (I'm Gone), Gwen Owens, Inticers were all played on Saturday night, Eddie Daye, Sy Hightower, Empires, Yvonne Baker, etc etc (not to minimize it) classics, modern stuff, two rooms, at least a hundred in line out the door waiting to get in at 11:30 when there were already 200 to 300+ in the building already. Some nice collections.

will have a bit clearer head in the morning some good fun, nice people, english breakfast, stella artois and footie matches all at the same time. Crazy chicago people driving 2200 miles and 40 hours for a nights worth of soul.

im not quite ready to recap yet ... gimme a few days to regroup. i will say though that there was some amazing fucking music played saturday night and one woman had to stop me on my way out to smoke a cigarette to tell me that i was a "very enthusiastic dancer." understatement of the year!!

keep your eyes on this space.

Wow! Impressive set list guys! Jr. McCants...say no more! Sorry I couldn't have been there to share the excitement.

I've got high hopes for Chicago. Seeing the entire US Rare Soul collective all together in one place will be a thrill all its own for me personally-for Dave as well I'm sure.

As always Kev-your graphics are top notch on those posters.

Well done to all concerned.

Saturday night was incredible for music. The Chicago guys (sorry I don't remember your names other than Ben), Richard, Andy Noble, Joerg Brenner, were throwing down some fantastic and rare songs. In the second room, Greg Belson was playing some absolutely DEADLY R&B/funk stompers (as he did in the main room on Friday), and Mr. Matt Finewine delivered floor-filling Detroit (and other) R&B. The crowd was capacity and the waiting line at midnight was about 75 people.

Hopefully more set lists and other comments will be forthcoming. I feel like I'm monopolizing and I don't want it to be that way.

I heard the Inticers but don't remember who played it. Richard?

Joerg's set included 2 Servicemen songs (Sweet Magic and Are You Angry), Don Varner "Tear Stained Face", Dennis Edwards "Johnny On the Spot" and loads more rare classic Northern killers.

The climax was the playing of Junior McCants. The 'buzz' had been growing on this for a couple days and seemed like everyone knew when it hit. Absolutely crazy!
