music and a very close friend of the Hitsville Soul
Club and There's That Beat! magazine. We thought

got together with him and put one together. You
can read about Dean's history, surrounded by some

his classic recordings, and read about his successful

A
SOULFUL TALE OF TWO CITIES
Philadelphia and Detroit are two absolute meccas of
soul music. Many of the talented soul artists from
both cities got together and had themselves a "soul
summit" in the recording studio. The end result
was a great new CD by an all-star lineup. Check out

Great web site from Barrie Waddington with lots of
great rare soul records for sale. The site includes
many scans of the 45s he's offering, along with sound
clips for each one. You'll find a lot of classics
as well as new discoveries. If you have There's That
Beat! issue #2, you can click on the "Poncho's
Porch" link and hear sound clips of each song
in his review. |

PHILLY SOUND
Many northern soul fans will recognize the name John
Madara on many great 45s, like Johnny Caswell, Len
Barry and many others. John has put together a really
nice web site that includes lots of pictures and links
to articles about many different artists and producers
from Philadelphia. Very impressive! |

The lovely Beverly Bremers, aka Beverly Ann has a
really nice web site that covers her multi-faceted
career. Beverly is an all-around entertainer with
lots to look at on her site. She's a singer, songwriter,
actress, a teacher-you name it! Northern soul fans
will especially like the 8x10 photos for sale. She'll

THE RAVE
Home base of Freehold, NJ record collector and DJ
Dave Kapulski, aka Dave The Rave. Dave caught the
music bug at the age of 8, when he got his first 45
back in 1962. He hasn't looked back ever since, and
now 50,000 records later, he's hosting a successful
internet radio program that includes many lesser-known
oldies of all categories. He's also interviewed various
recording artists and producers. Just take a look
at his photo gallery and you'll see people like Tommy
James and Jimmy Wisner stopping by for stay in his
impressive vinyl vault. On his web site, you can find
many set lists and lots of sound files to listen to,
including a three-part interview with Charlie Calello. |

Great site for all things Sonny Charles, including
some fantastic rare photos from Sonny's own private
archive. Sonny Charles and Sweet Louie perform in
Las Vegas regularly and sometimes collaborate with

don't want to miss their outstanding stage shows. |
